Project Synopsis:

Through an initial content audit of the client’s website, I uncovered a low difficulty keyword that was highly relevant for the client and their customers. Prior to my team’s collaboration with this client, they were having trouble ranking for relevant keywords in their industry and even for their own brand.

After implementing my suggested optimizations, the client jumped up in SERP rankings for a specific commercial keyword that was critical to bringing customers to their business instead of to competitors’. Ultimately, the net-new content that was created quickly hit the #1 spot outranking competitors, and even the local map pack.

Key Services:

Upon in-depth keyword research and SEO analysis of the client’s site, I noticed they were having trouble getting traffic share and ranking for a lot of important key terms. Simply put, the client was missing a lot of relevant content. They had only a few pages and low word counts for what little pages did exist, with no keyword strategy in place. There was a lot of low-effort, high-impact opportunities to leverage through strategic keyword tactics, content creation and internal linking.

By identifying this low difficulty keyword, my team and I created net-new content and strategically placed the target keyword in the meta title, meta description, URL slug, and headings and body text. Quickly, we were able to climb the ranks to the #1 spot on the search engine results page (SERP) for the query. The page now ranks above the map pack, and higher than big competitors like Total Wine, and 104,999 other web pages.

To further showcase expertise, we included an FAQ section on the page. For this content, we leveraged the existing “People Always Ask” questions that would show up in the SERP for our target keyword, and wrote engaging, relevant, clear and concise answers to each of them. As a result, we broke into the first “People Always Ask” question with our new page, which showcases how authority and expertise is now being shown by the page/domain. The page also now ranks #1 for “malort near me”, a separate query with similar intent.
